Historical field names
Old field names are interesting in several respects: they provide information about the life in the area at that time and are at the same time often witnesses of past linguistic usage – words and names that have often still influenced the language today.
At that time, they served mainly to clarify and define the orientation outside the local boundaries.
In the Harxheim district there are a number of signs to historical field names, they go back to the work of the late Harxheim Prof. Dr. Klaus Faiß, updated by the HVV Harxheim in the years 2021 / 2022.
